1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Malja (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Malja is a community platform that allows users to report lost and found pets, share information about stray or injured animals, coordinate foster care and adoption, and connect with veterinarians and animal trainers. The Service is provided “as is” and we make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or outcomes of any information posted.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
• One person may not maintain multiple accounts for abusive purposes.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users.
• Spam or send unsolicited commercial messages.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems.
• Scrape or harvest user data without permission.
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose.

5. Content Guidelines

All content you post must relate to animal welfare, rescue, or community coordination. The following content is strictly prohibited:

• Graphic depictions of animal cruelty or abuse.
• Content that promotes animal fighting, hoarding, or exploitation.
• Discriminatory content targeting any person or group.
• Sexually explicit material.
• Malware, phishing links, or malicious code.

Posts that receive three or more flags from other users are automatically hidden pending review. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines without prior notice.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting content on Malja, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, store, and distribute that content as part of operating the Service. You represent that you have the right to post any content you submit.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your posts and conversation history are permanently removed.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for the accuracy of user-generated content, the outcome of any rescue or adoption effort, or any harm resulting from interactions between users. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Malja shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when material changes are made.
